Its right that there facility to move upwards in VARNASHRAM ladder..... bt its generally theoretically , its not practical and dat too due to natural reason....

bcos no one would wanted to be BRAHMAN due to their ascetic life style and beggar activity, Brahman had to be BHIKSHUK (sacred beggar) and live life wid enormous povery....

main intension ws to become KING..... and thus there were fight among diff clan and many caste were organized for kingdom.... bt no one ws for brahman...

2ndly.... there were inter-mixing wid other caste among all 3 class except brahman.... they hadn't allow other to mix wid them... they had 2 much superiority complex.. and since they were scholar.. so they had known dat it'll lead genetic mixing which will degrades their genes , (no offense ), also due to d fact dat almost all of them were monogamy due to their ascetic life style.

bt few brahman were v-powerful...as KING had appointed Minister and policy makers n all those minister n policy makers were Brahman....

so, mainly brahman had power due to kshatriya and money due to kshatriya n vasihya....

also.... they were supreme class at dat time too....

so... any of them (3 class) had fight for kingdom bt not for brahman....
2ndly... who so ever had tryed.... v-less could hav succeed ...

Balmiki ji , saint jalab, etc... were exception.....

generally, brahman remains intact....

also.... if u hav gone through VARNASHRAM theory....
a/c to dat..... one can become BRAHMAN due to its KARMA...bt later their generation cannot be said Brahman... AS there required to do karma for many generation ...
means.... for every 7 generation continued... they move up for 1 class...

suppose... worker class tryed to become brahman.... his 21 generation would hav to do BRAHMAN KARMA then their whole clan onwards will be known as BRAHMAN... which u know.... rare...

ya .. if one becam BRAHMAN by karma... he'll called himself BRAHMAN... bt not his child....

similarly, if any BRAHMAN would leave BRAHMAN KARMA then after 7 generation... he would step down 1 class..

and if their 21 generation would leave BRAHMAN KARMA..... then onwards... their clan will be classified as WORKER CLASS....


abt other category....

since due to static economy and agrarian based economy, everyone had done farming, and had pets like horse,cow(mostly), horse etc....

so u can say, everyone ws farmer... including most of d brahman....

even eminent Brahman who had running GURUKUL, they had farm-land n lots of cows donated by mainly kings n other kshatriya +business class....
n disciple of GURUJI had used to do farming n feed cattle .

so, there were almost all peasants and had cattle,

bt since due to kingdom, there were fight among all d group, so various person from diff caste had become king time to time... till BRITISH REGIME... (including Brahman )

and wat we know today smone 4m any particular category, its d last of their class ...

means it may be possible, smone from his caste would hav been king , bt at present he's called sc/st/obc.

also... many new castes formed meanwhile due to various reason, so there r various caste among diff caste..

bt generally, mainly king ws MAIN KSHETRIYA GROUP ... bcos other group had less chance to become a KING

also, bcos there were v-less fight among INDIAN KING for kingdom, (a/c to US historian report, in all civilization, there were least fighting among Indian king, as they were used to take care their citizen wid peace n prosperity ) bcos INDIA ws spiritual centric life, so obviously less conflicts.
